Matt Kazmierski Endorses Chuck Grigsby for East Lansing City Council

I had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with Megan Schellong of WKAR Public Media from Michigan State University
and spoke with her about East Lansing and some of our community initiatives I’ve been involved with and how they can work with effective communication, active listening, and sound research with a commitment to the solutions. The recent Commission work is a great example of that formula coming to fruition. That is a formula for success to the challenges of post-pandemic life in East Lansing I will bring to the table when elected to the City of East Lansing City Council on November 2, 2021.
I had the opportunity to talk with East Lansing Info’s Jack Timothy Harrison to discuss my reasons for running for the East Lansing City Council election on November 2, 2021 – Read the article here. As your newly elected East Lansing City Councilmember, my role in government will fall under these criteria:
Fiscal responsibility
Commitment to positive environmental Initiatives
A strong relationship with Michigan State University and our surrounding Municipalities
Transparency in the City’s decision-making process that is consistent in practice and promotes accountability
I believe these are some of the foundational pieces of our continued growth and stability for the City of East Lansing going forward. I hope to earn your vote for the East Lansing City Council election on November 2, 2021

Thank you East Lansing Safe Routes to School. I had the excellent opportunity to meet with parents, neighbors, and community members working on significant public safety initiatives for our children, and community who live and works in our city. I was able to be involved in informative discussions about safe traveling in our community, whether bicycling, walking, scooters, or other alternative means of transportation by our citizens. Please know that I am available to discuss, learn and support groups and organizations whose mandate is to invest in our community’s future and well-being that support East Lansing. As your next East Lansing City Councilmember, I will continue making myself available and learning from you to be a representative who is in touch with our community values.

I have had the fantastic opportunity to sit and meet with some special East Lansing community members. I was struck by both the passion and the willingness to get involved in such an important topic today during our first Human Rights Commission Coffee and Conversations in 2021. I really enjoy hearing from other people and their different perspectives of what is important to them and why. Let me know what you think by email or through my contact form here.
As part of my campaign, I have, and will continue to meet with individuals, groups, and organizations committed to working on solutions for our city that reflect our shared community vision and values. As your next Councilmember in the November 2, 2021 election, I promise to stay accessible and engaged with the pulse of our community and anyone who wants to talk any and all things East Lansing.

Good morning, East Lansing,
In the last 10-12 hours I have received a few calls, texts, and emails regarding the sudden change to our City Council, with Mayor Aaron Stephens announcing his plans to step down from his seat during the East Lansing City Council meeting last night.
One of my core reasons to run in the City Council November 2nd election, is my desire to be a stable, consistent, and reliable presence to represent your vote, and the voice of the people of East Lansing, Michigan. The news of last night’s change has only further strengthened how important it was for me to have chosen to run for one of the open seats with the four-year term (versus the 2-year term) in the 2021 election. I believe this important commitment to the City, and the people of East Lansing should be what you expect with your representation from your elected officials going forward. Please join me at the November 2, 2021 election to represent you as your next East Lansing City Council member.
