FOR EAST LANSING

Chuck Grigsby for East Lansing City Council

Before moving to the Glencairn neighborhood in 2016, I had been coming to visit East Lansing for over 20 years, spending time with my family. My wife grew up in East Lansing, graduating from ELHS in 1991. We have been fortunate to have lived and traveled around the world, and after having our child, we wanted to raise our son in a place where we believed, shared our values with a strong feeling of community. I knew this was the best place for us. I recognized that people in this community are active and engaged with what they consider to be the essential issues. As a person who has experienced racism, discrimination, and violence, I know firsthand how important it is to impact and lead my family by positively creating positive opportunities. I served on the East Lansing  Human Rights Commission, where we are charged to protect against discrimination and prejudice based on religion, race, color, national origin, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and student status by promoting human dignity and respect for all living in our community
