The Study Committee on an Independent Police Oversight Commission, which I chaired, concluded its work by delivering a formal report and recommending draft ordinance language to City Council to establish police oversight.

That work directly resulted in Council’s adoption of Policy Resolution 2021-14 and Ordinance No. 1503, formally establishing East Lansing’s Independent Police Oversight Commission.
